Who We Are:
Tonatierra Community Development Institute is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that was founded in 1993 as an instrument of Community Ecology with particular focus on underserved communities of Indigenous Peoples, advocating and organizing for the emergence of the principles of Respect, Inclusion, Reciprocity and Peace as standards in the community development processes.
Our Mission:
As a community based grass-roots organization of Indigenous Peoples, Tonatierra Community Development Institute is committed to the cultural, spiritual, economic and political empowerment of all peoples through focused and purposeful local and regional development strategies and programs of sustainability.
What We Do:
By implementing successful programs of local community economic empowerment linked with educational and cultural programming that is generational in scope, Tonatierra provides a model and catalyst to effectively and proactively address the educational, economic, and cultural needs and challenges of the community.
