Dear Friends:
This letter is
to inform you that Centro Macehualli is undergoing a tremendous funding crisis!
Since 2003, the Centro Macehualli has worked to protect the most vulnerable
population, migratory workers and their families. Centro Macehualli continues
to empower migratory residents to advocate for human rights and dignity in the
most anti-migratory worker state in the United States, Arizona. At this time we are respectfully
requesting your help to keep the Centro Macehualli’s doors open by making your tax
deductible donation by visiting our website: centromacehualli.org, go to Support
and click on the Donate Button or mail your check to Centro Macehualli, P.O.
Box 5118, Phoenix, AZ 85010.
During this
holiday season we are selling virtual tamales that can be bought by going to shop.centromacehualli.org.
Corn has sustained our communities for hundreds of generations. It
is in this way that we are asking you to assist our Centro Macehualli during these
difficult time.
Centro
Macehualli, the only grassroots organization in Phoenix and Arizona to have
successfully established a self managed center. The Centro Macehualli has been a pivotal hub of activities
for the betterment of the neighborhood and community. By sponsoring English as a Second Language classes, computer
classes and other informational workshops on different topics, the community
has flourished and stabilized.
Further,
Centro Macehualli has become a place for diverse communities such as
university students and interfaith congregations to come together with workers
and dialogue to create new understandings of the situation and condition of
migratory families
Centro
Macehualli cannot do it alone, Together we can make it happen. The vision of a
community center benefits everyone.
Stand up and be counted as a visionary!
Sincerely,
Salvador Reza Sylvia Herrera,

Thank you for visiting our website and showing interest in our new and exciting project:

Our proposed Capital Campaign Drive for Phase One Macehualli Office Building and our corresponding planning objectives are as follows:
The Macehualli Community Campus. The Macehualli Community Campus.
The Tonatierra Community Development Institute seeks to geographically expand its community programs by establishing a physical location in a new building with available leasable office space, in north-central Phoenix area.
There exist ongoing and unmet needs in the north-central Phoenix area community that could be served by the Tonatierra Community Development Institute. A new built Macehualli Community Campus facility would make office space available for Tonatierra and also make additional lease spaces available for complementary service providers that would help support the community mission spearheaded by Tonatierra. Some of the complementary and needed services that Tonatierra could help provide through the new Macehualli Community Campus could include but not limited to:
Community Outreach Services
Medical Counseling and Advocacy
Urgent Care Medical Services
Diabetes Education and Assistance
Bilingual Speech Pathology Evaluation and Services
Audiology Testing and Services
Bilingual Academic Testing
Dental Health Services
Immigration Assistance Services
Childcare Assistance
Economic Assistance and Counseling
Taxpayer Assistance and Education
